Hilton has opened its first output of the Spark by Hilton brand in Mystic, Connecticut.

Let’s take a look at this new hotel and brand!

100+ Spark Hotels in Development

Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton, Hilton’s first Spark property, has opened in southern Connecticut. The hotel has 120 guest rooms, an outdoor pool (open seasonally), a 24-hour market, public spaces for entertaining, and free Wi-Fi.

Guests looking for a quaint getaway or those in the area for business will be close to local attractions such as the Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport Museum, Olde Mistick Village, and the Mystic Bascule Drawbridge.

“This breakthrough premium economy brand builds on Hilton’s continued work to develop new brands and provide a hotel for every traveler and every stay occasion,” said Matt Schuyler, Chief Brand Officer at Hilton. “Spark is our fastest announcement-to-market brand in Hilton’s history, and we are excited to grow our portfolio of world-class brands with many more Sparks on the horizon.”

Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton is now open for guests.

The hotel is participating in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, so you can earn and redeem Hilton Honors points during your stay. Rates for award nights are slightly higher than expected for a mid-scale hotel — they start at around 29,000 Hilton Honors points per night. However, cash rates are very affordable, starting at around $100 per night.

What Is Spark by Hilton?

Spark by Hilton is one of the chain’s newest brands, joining under the so-called “premium economy” umbrella. Hilton says the hotel brand will deliver “reliable essentials and friendly service” at an affordable price for consumers.

Spark hotels will be distinctive, Hilton says, by offering thoughtful simplicity, reliable service, and high-quality touches for travelers wishing to maximize their travel budget. Guests can enjoy multi-functional seating in communal spaces and a bagel bar with premium coffee in the mornings.

Hilton says it has more than 400 Spark hotels in “various stages of development.”

Final Thoughts

The debut of a new brand is always good news for travelers, and this opening is no different. The brand should please a variety of travelers across budgets but will undoubtedly be popular with travelers who hope to stick to a budget.

Given how cheap cash rates are, this could be a great way to complete a mattress run before the end of the year!
